BEST CHANCE IS USABLE WHEN YOU ARE TIRED, STRESSED OR ACCESSING IT DIFFERENTLY
Accessibility
Accessibility is not only compliance — Best Chance is built to reduce cognitive load, use plain language, and work for parents and young people with different visual, motor, cognitive and communication needs.
1. Plain language and progressive disclosure
Every page leads with the problem, a useful answer and the next action. Deeper detail sits behind clear ‘See more’ controls, so nothing is hidden and nothing is forced on you at once.
2. Keyboard and assistive technology
Every interactive control works from the keyboard alone, carries the right label, and is tested with common assistive technologies.
3. Visual accessibility
Readable contrast, text that scales, a visible focus outline, no state shown by colour alone, and mobile layouts that never need horizontal scrolling.
4. Cognitive accessibility
One clear action per screen, short sections, consistent labels, and no unnecessary jargon or feature dumps.
5. Voice and alternative input
Voice capture — speaking instead of typing — is a high-value accessibility feature on our roadmap. It is not part of the site today, and we will mark it clearly once it is reliable enough to trust.
6. Tell us what is difficult
You can report an accessibility problem directly, and we will respond and explain what happens next.
