Why I built Best Chance.
Best Chance was born from necessity.
I was trying to make sure my son had the best support around him. Instead, I found myself having to become the researcher, evidence organiser, administrator, advocate, strategist and case manager — learning systems I never expected a parent to have to master.
I built Best Chance because I did not want another family to have to go through the same pain and difficulty just to understand what their child may need and what to do next.
And there is a fear many families with disabled children carry: if I am not here tomorrow, who makes sure my child still has the right people, support, evidence, oversight and governance around them?
That question became part of the bigger Best Chance ambition — to help create a support system around the child that is clearer, better governed and less dependent on one exhausted parent carrying everything in their head.
Best Chance was born from my family’s necessity. It has been shaped further by hearing too many other hard stories from parents who were tired, overwhelmed or simply did not have the time and resources to keep fighting.

What the free check does now — and what is planned
Today’s free check is not a blank chatbot. It follows fixed, reviewed questions and written rules, and shows the published guidance behind its finding. It does not take documents, keep a continuing case or remember what happens next.
