TURN SHARED EXPERIENCE INTO EVIDENCE — SAFELY
I Experienced This Too
Sometimes the most useful thing a parent can say is: this happened to us too. Best Chance should let families register a shared experience without forcing them to publish a personal story.
Acknowledge the pattern
Parents can select the issue they experienced and add structured context such as council/service type, broad date and what happened.
Choose privacy level
Private contribution, aggregated research only, anonymised quotation or public story should be separate choices.
Do not create a trauma wall
The page should focus on pattern evidence and support, not encourage vulnerable families to expose identifying details in public.
Use data carefully
Any public statistics need methodology, sample size, date range and a clear statement that self-reported experience is not the same as independently verified organisational performance.
Move back to the parent’s own case
After contributing, the parent should be offered the relevant Check or next action for their situation.
